Tibetan Culture Tour

The Tibetan culture is very different from any other cultures in the world, and it varies a lot in different parts of the Tibetan areas. On this tour we will visit different Tibetan areas for their colorful culture and wonderful nature with high mountains and great rivers.

Day 1 – Arrive in Chengdu; city tour.

Day 2 – Chengdu Panda Breeding Center in the morning. Tibetan school in the afternoon. Sichuan opera in the evening.

Day 3 – Chengdu to Kangding, the center of the Khang Tibetans who mainly live in Sichuan and Yunnan. Ludin Bridge and temple at Dadu River on the way.

Day 4 – Kangding to Danba. Zheduo Mountain pass which is 4200 meters high. If it’s clear we can see the peaks of Gonggashan Mountain which is over 7556 meters, the highest in this part of the world. Tagong and Bamei grassland, the hometown of Muya Tibetans, the station of the 6th Dalai Lama, and the birthplace of the 7th Dalai Lama. Yala Mountain with wonderful views, then to Danba town where Dadu River begins.

Day 5 – Visit Danba, the center of Jiarong Tibetans. Zhonglu village and the ancient watch towers. Moerduo sacred mountain where the Bon religion originated.

Day 6 – Danba to Ruoergai, a small town in upper Yellow River, has the most beautiful wetland in China.

Day 7 – Ruoergai to Luqu town. Langmusi monastery on border of Sichuan and Gansu. Huahu Lake and the first bend of Yellow River in Tangke.

Day 8 – Luqu to Xiahe town, the center of Anduo Tibetans who mainly live in Qinghai. Milarepa Pavilion on the way. Labrang Monastery, the largest Tibetan Buddhism seat of learning, with the biggest collection of books.

Day 9 – Xiahe to Lanzhou.Yellow River cruise and Binglingsi Grotto on the way.

Day 10 – Lanzhou to Lhasa by train. Enjoy the views on Tibetan Plateau, snow mountains, lakes and animals.

Day 11 – Arrive in Lhasa, transfer to hotel. Jhorkang Temple, Barkor street in the afternoon.

Day 12 – Potala and Norbulinka palaces this day, the winter and summer palaces for Dalai Lama.

Day 13 – Gandan Monastery by Kyichu River, the first monastery of the Yellow Sect. To Zedang in the afternoon.

Day 14 – Explore Zedang. The Tibetan Kings’ tombs, Yongbulakang fort, and a nunnery.

Day 15 – Zedang to Lhasa Airport, fly to Chengdu.

Day 16 – Leave Chengdu for home and trip ends.
